Verification process
Companies that wants product verification are offered an initial meeting where a representative of the relevant verrification and test body in details can explain the process of verification and the possibility of partly public financing.
The verification process is outlined below.

Prior to the preliminary phase of the verification a "Quick scan" report that contains a brief description of the product and specification of the matrix (eg.: drinking water, slurry, air emission, etc.) is prepared. The application of the technology (parameters that are focussed on) are defined and the effect is clarified (for example: reduction of a given pollutant). If the product proves suitable to verification a contract including budget and schedule is prepared.
The verification protocol includes a detailed description of the verification process, of the technology and the specific product tested. In addition, a sketch of the test plan and strategy for data management, evaluation and quality control is prepared.
The test plan is a detailed plan for how, where and by whom the verification shall be performed. In the test plan, the number of samples/tests and analyses, data logging and audits shall be defined. The verification protocol and the test plan shall be reviewed by an external expert before it is submitted for approval and signature to the company. Then the test can begin.
After the test a test report is prepared and the this includes observations, data and calculations from the executed verification test. Moreover, the results of an audit conducted during the test are included.
The verification can either take place in a laboratory or on-site. The place for testing is agreed upon between the test center and the manufacturer of the product.
The verification report summarizes previous reports and includes an assessment of product performance and quality of the verification test.
The verification statement is a 3-4 page document with the signatures of verification and testing center. The document briefly describes the overall results of testing and the product performance. The verification statement can for example be used in the marketing of the product.
