Online monitoring of slurry storage tanks
The company Plus Tec has developed an electronic monitoring system for slurry storage tanks, LevelTec. In case of leakage or overflow the LevelTec-system is generating a SMS-alarm message, which is sent to the owner or employees at the farm. Thereby, immediate action can be taken to stop the slurry release and to avoid or minimize pollution of nearby streams or lakes. LevelTec can also be used for improved management and planning of slurry application and distribution on the different fields. DANETV is performing a verification to document that LevelTec is functioning as claimed and that an alarm is actually generated and received when it is supposed to. In addition, the verification shall prove that LevelTec is robust and reliable under typical environmental conditions for places where the system is normally installed.

Monitoring of bacteria in drinking water
Technology for monitoring of coliform bacteria and E. Coli has been verified for Colifast AS, Norway. The principle of the technology is measurement of color or fluorescence produced by the bacteria through cleavage of specific substrates added to the water. The verification was done aiming at surveillance of drinking water quality with respect to bacteria, not for compliance monitoring. The verification was done under the US EPA ETV program by Battelle and in cooperation with DANETV and ETV Canada. US verification report and Verification statement.

Measurement of toxicity in wastewater
Technology for determination of toxic compounds in effluent waste water was verified for HACH-LANGE. The technology is based on use of bio-luminescence. Two illuminometers will be tested for their ability to screen for toxic compounds in effluent waste water. The verification was performed for HACH-LANGE as a joint verification with Battelle (U.S. ETV) and ETV Canada. Passive samplers
Verification of passive samplers measuring volatile organic compounds such as chlorinated solvents and constituents of petroleum fuels in groundwater (cooperation with NOWATECH and the US EPA’s Environmental Technology Verification Programme and Battelle). Online measurement of nitrate and nitrite in wastewater
UV-VIS multiparameter based measurement sensor for the measurement of nitrate and nitrite in wastewater. Verification was carried out in cooperation with NOWATECH and TESTNET according to EN/ISO 15839. Download report here

Measurement of toxicity in wastewater
